"Shut up Pat (and colour guy on the radio)"
(With no Pat to pick on, let's see if Allen Ashby is as bad as Pat Tabler for rambling nonsense)

Shut up Pat Notes:

All year long it's been about how Molina and Buck have really made this pitching staff so much better, blocking balls and on and on. Now Allen is dissing Molina like he's playing lazy.

Three 'X's (* see below) in one 1/2 inning is a new record in the "Shut up Pat" worst announcer contest.

With no TV I'm relying on the radio guys to call the pitches. Ashby is missing pitches every batter, he catches up always by letting us know what the count is though; but for scorers, it sucks. Using ESPN's 'pitch by pitch' feature as back up.

7th: Another pitch in the dirt goes to the back stop with key runs on the bases (2 of which scored in the 6th), so as the game goes on it appears my takes (x's in the 2nd) on Ashbys criticism of Molina's catching were off base. Ashby was after, all a Major League catcher, and listening on the radio, I can't see the plays.

Now here in the ninth a pitch in the dirt is caught on the backhand by Molina as he's standing up on a pitch that Kalish thought was going to get away (and should have, Molina got lucky) and Molina throws Kalish out because all game long Molina wasn't getting in front of balls in the dirt. Pitch after the next is a triple that would have tied the game! Go figure.

Molina gets player of the game and Allen Ashby basically says, 'well, it shouldn't have happened'.

(* Since the scorer at tonight's game reversed his error call on Bautista's throw with one out in the Boston first - TWICE - I'm going to reverse my "Shut up Pat" call in the bottom of the second and remove three 'shut up bad announcer' x's from Ashby's column, as they were all about Jose 'deal with the devil' Molina plays.)

:)
